Primo Pistoni est né à Crémone (Italie) en 1957.
De 1971 à 1975, il suivit les cours à l’Ecole Internationale de Lutherie et obtint son diplôme dans cette même ville avec Maître G.B. Morassi. Sa passion pour la fabrication d’instruments (violons, altos, violoncelles) a été couronnée par de nombreux prix lors de concours nationaux et internationaux.
Depuis 1995, il est membre de l’Entente Internationale des Maîtres Luthiers et Archetiers d’Art ». Il a été membre de jury de plusieurs concours, notamment ceux de Paris en 1999 et 2004, Crémone(2000), Mittenwald (2001) et Poznan (2011).
En 2001, le grand virtuose de violon M Ruggiero Ricci l’a invité à participer à l’enregistrement d’un CD intitulé « The Legacy of Cremona » avec 17 autres luthiers choisis dans le monde entier. Ricci a joué des passages de musique classique sur ces violons contemporains pour montrer les caractéristiques du son propres à chaque instrument.
Ses instruments sont appréciés à travers toute l’Europe, l’Asie et les Etats-Unis.
Primo Pistoni was born in Cremona in 1957. From 1971 to 1975 he attended the International Violin Making School of his city, where he graduated under the training of M. G.B. Morassi.
He enjoys making new instruments (violins, violas and cellos) and has taken part in several national and international competitions, winning numerous prizes.
Since 1995 he has been a member of the « Entente Internationale des Maitres Luthiers et Archetiers d’Art ».
He has been on the jury of several international compétitions, such as Paris in 1999 and 2004, Cremona (2000), Mittenwald (2001) and Poznan (2011).
In 2001, the great violin virtuoso, M. Ruggiero Ricci invited him, together with 17 other contemporary violin makers selected from around the world, to take part in the recording of a CD entitled « The Legacy of Cremona ». M. Ricci played passages from classical works on the different contemporary violins, in order to demonstrate the sound characteristics of each instrument.
His instruments are appreciated all over Europe, Asia and the USA.
